The Independent was the lowest selling newspaper the consequence would be they wouldn't get enough money to keep producing newspaper and would go bankrupt. In 2016 the independent went online fully.

The newspaper industry overall is having a massive decline and as a result the newspaper industry could go out of business in the future

A paywall describes a method of restricting access to online content via a paid subscription. Yes they give that newspaper a way of gain more money and get loyal readership.
2)How are newspapers currently funded? (think about advertising space, cover price of a newspaper & paywalls)
funded by their readers more than half of the revenue comes fro their readers which sows they have loyal funded and also paywalls.
3)What are the roles of the IPSO and IMPRESS? Why do they exist? When have they been important?
IPSO handles complaints and conducts its own investigations into editorial standards and compliance. IMPRESS We set the highest regulatory standards for news, offer education to help people make informed choices, and provide resolution when disputes arise. IMPRESS DEAL WITH MORE COMPLAINTS THAN IPSO
